As part of the Trust’s ongoing maintenance of the bridge and surrounding area we will soon begin to carry out ground investigations on the Esplanade at Rochester.
The aim of these works is to ensure we have the most up-to-date information available ahead of future reconditioning of the Trust-owned parts of the Esplanade and river wall.
Although a date has not yet been set, the works will begin at the start of the summer and will include a series of bore holes and trial pits.
We will aim to keep inconvenience to pedestrians and road users to a minimum – with notifications of any traffic management being publicised at appropriate times – but please be aware these works will cause some minor disruption on the Esplanade, including limited availability of parking outside the Bridge Chamber.
