Hands-on activities in Langdon’s Den

While our Bridge Works exhibition tells a story of history, Langdon’s Den – the lair of education mascot Langdon the Lion – is focused on the future.

Young people are invited to try their hand at a range of permanent activities to introduce them to Rochester’s bridges and hopefully inspire them to be the bridge builders and designers of tomorrow.

Activities include:

  • Build an arch bridge
  • Handle a lion from the Old Bridge
  • Dressing up as an engineer
  • Bridge terms quiz
  • “How old is the bridge?” challenge

Extra to this, a range of free activity days for schoolchildren will take place throughout the course of the exhibition, click here to find out more.

Once you’ve left Langdon’s Den, if you’d like to find out even more about bridges, check out the free hands-on bridge activities available on our engineering education website here.
