Celebrating museums and heritage
The Rochester Bridge Trust has spent more than six centuries maintaining and restoring historic structures and is pleased to sponsor the Restoration or Conservation category of the Museums + Heritage Awards 2018.
Bridge Clerk Sue Threader said: “Founded in 1399, the Trust has a long history of working with historic structures, including its own listed Old Bridge, Victorian Bridge Chamber and medieval Bridge Chapel. We also manage an archive dating from medieval times and collections of art, furniture and other artefacts, some of which are currently on display in our free Bridge Works exhibition.
“The first-hand experience of owning and maintaining a wide variety of historic structures and items means everyone at the Trust appreciates the effort that goes into restoring and conserving the country’s heritage assets. We are really looking forward to finding out which projects are shortlisted and who the judges choose as the winner.”
The awards, which cover all major aspects of the museums, galleries and heritage attractions sector, are now open for entries, with the winners announced at a ceremony on 15th May 2019.
