Congratulations to the winners of the Kent Design & Development Awards 2018
Well done to all the winners of the Kent Design & Development Awards, in particular to One Warwick Park, victor of the Conservation category.
Sponsored by the Rochester Bridge Trust, the category seeks to reward building projects that show an innovative and sensitive approach to refurbishment, conservation and/or reuse of redundant, threatened or underused buildings and structures across the country.
One Warwick Park is a former school building in Tunbridge Wells that was transformed into a hotel designed by Hazle McCormack Young. Other finalists in the category included a market, harbour arm and two residential properties.
The award was presented by Assistant Warden Peter Homewood, who said: “Conservation of heritage structures is an important part of the Trust’s work and something we are keen to encourage.
“It was interesting to see the different approaches the finalists had each taken to their projects and I enjoyed finding out more about the judges’ chosen winner. Congratulations to One Warwick Park and all who were involved in this remarkable refurbishment.”
