Find out more about some of Kent and East Sussex’s most remarkable engineering structures in a free talk.
This year is the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Institution of Civil Engineers. To celebrate, the ICE has profiled 200 of the stand-out engineering achievements of the last two centuries, many of which are in Kent and East Sussex.
In this free lecture organised by Kent and East Sussex Heritage Engineering Group, Richard Adam will look at 12 projects from across Kent.
Sue Threader, Chair of the ICE Kent & East Sussex Branch, said: “Some of the structures in Kent have already been announced (such as the Channel Tunnel and London Array, the world’s largest operational offshore windfarm), but Richard will also speak about those projects yet to be revealed, giving a fascinating insight into the broad range of heritage engineering to be found across our region.”
Richard Adam is a local member of the ICE’s Panel for Historical Engineering Works. The talk will take place at Oakwood House, Maidstone, on Thursday, 21st June. Doors open at 6pm, with the talk beginning promptly at 6.30pm.
