Marking ten years of external communications

As a medieval charity, it’s easy to imagine the Rochester Bridge Trust as a slightly mysterious organisation, which is why it gives us great pleasure to mark a 10-year milestone for external communications.

The Trust’s team of staff is supported by a network of professional advisors, and in June 2020 it marked 10 years of working with external communications experts at Maxim.

Since their appointment in 2010, the team at Maxim has helped with everything from celebrating the centenary of our Old Bridge; launching the Bridge Works exhibition; managing international media interest in the adventure golf in Rochester Cathedral; and more.

Bridge Clerk Sue Threader explained: “The Trust has been a part of Rochester for centuries, but many people did not necessarily know what it is or why it exists. The increased profile of the Trust and the better understanding of our work among the general public is in no small part thanks to Maxim’s efforts.

“I’m also glad I seem to have encouraged some of their team to develop a fascination with bridges!”

As well as large projects, Maxim has supported the Trust on a day-to-day basis supporting education events, sourcing merchandise, managing print projects – including a series of books, and social media.

Erica Jones, Account Manager at Maxim, added: “Having previously lived for many years with the bridges as a near neighbour, I’m particularly proud to work with the Rochester Bridge Trust, supporting the good work it does.

“From civil engineering education to supporting a multi-million pound refurbishment, the work is fascinating. It’s also a lot of fun, with a particular personal highlight being when I had the opportunity to dress up as the Trust’s education mascot, Langdon the Lion, to take part in a charity fun run.”
