Adam Brown, Project Supervisor

As Project Supervisor for FM Conway for the Rochester Bridge Refurbishment Project, my role is to oversee the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring the health and safety of the team, as well as running the planning of the plant, labour and order of materials.

I came straight out of college and into employment with FM Conway, fast forward 10 years and I have now worked my way through the ranks from brick layer to Project Supervisor. I have been involved on a number of great projects, including working on the Dover Cruise Terminal, Euro tunnels and Rochester Bridge and have worked with some great teams in the process. I relish the people management my role gives me and enjoy the social aspect and laughs I can have with the team I work with.

One of the things I look forward to most about this project is the historical culture that you would not get in other jobs. I take great pride in the historical aspects of the job, as well as keeping my team motivated to ensure clients remain inspired by our everyday workmanship.

I think the most challenging elements of the project are working within confined spaces. A lot of different elements are involved working in these tight areas, such as removing gas pipes and working in tough environments. Therefore, it is vital that everybody is following our safe practices to deliver the work safely and to the highest levels of quality.

In my spare time, I am passionate about my family. I am a father to one little girl, who really enjoys horse riding and I love to watch her compete.  My wife is also a competitive horse rider and I follow them around the country, pushing them and sharing in their achievements.
